Wanted: Initiative The petition against the separation barrier on the village of Bil’in’s land is to go before the High Court of Justice on February 1, 2006. The village lands have been expropriated in order to allow the expansion of the settlement of Modi’in Illit. Wanted: Open-mindedness 1,600 people live in the village of Bil’in. The separation barrier currently under construction isolates them from 60 percent, or 2,300 dunams, of their lands on which most of Bil’in’s olive trees grow. The barrier constitutes a severe blow to the villagers’ livelihoods, which come mostly from agriculture. The people of Bil’in will not be able to work their lands on the western side of the barrier, where a settlement will spring up Wanted: Responsibility Bil’in residents are fighting an ongoing and nonviolent popular struggle along with Israeli and international activists. However, all of the demonstrations that have taken place to this day have been violent dispersed by security forces. Previous petitions regarding the issue of bil’in have been denied Wanted: A courageous decision The High Court of Justice must halt construction on the property of Bil’in! This exhibit is the fruit of the labor of four photographers that have documented Bil’in’s struggle in the last year.
