A day before, settlers came to the village with an animal transporter with the intention of taking all the donkeys, they were stopped by the residents.Khan al-Ahmar is a Bedouin encampment in the West Bank, between the illegal Israeli settlements of Ma'ale Adumim and Kfar Adumim.Many of the families living in Khan al-Ahmar are from the Jahalin Bedouintribe who were displaced from the Negev during 1948. The encampment was slated for demolition in February 2010 due to allegations of illegalbuildings.The Palestinian-Bedouin communities of Arab al Jahalin Bedouin tribeare at an exceedingly growing risk of forced ethnic displacement. Thecommunities have been informed by the Israeli authorities that they have no option but to leave the area, as part of a larger plan (to begin as early as January 2012) to relocate Bedouin communities living in Area C (Jerusalem periphery, Jordan Valley, and south Hebron Hills), where Israel retains control over security as well as planning and zoning.
