Army trying to prevent the people of Deir Nizzam and their supporters from continuing the planting. Olive planting action in the village of Deir Nizzam, Ramallah district. Palestinians from the village of Deir Nizaam went on Tuesday morning, 15/12/09, to plant olive trees on their land, close to the settlement of Halamish. The planting took place as an act against the frequent harassments by the settlers and their attempts to take over the land and a natural spring located there. When the works began a group of settlers came to the land and started to confront the Palestinians. As a result the army stoped the works and declared the area a closed military zone, although the planting was coordinated with the Israeli District Coordination Office, the "Civil Administration" of the Israeli army.
