Around 1.9 million people, out of the 2.3 million Gazans, have been displaced since Oct.7, living under harsh conditions, almost without food, clean water and access to basic needs. The harsh living conditions worsen with the arrival of rain and a drop in temperature, raising concerns for the rising risk for disease outbreaks. According to a UN report, the entire 2.3 million population of Gaza is facing hunger and the risk of famine is increasing each day, with 576,600 people at catastrophic – or starvation – levels. Human Rights Watch also issued a report which denounces the Israeli colonial regime for using starvation as a weapon of war.
